Our People

At Southside Mandarin, much importance is put on the communication among our students, teachers and parents. This triangular relationship ensures parents expectations are met, school teachers’ requirements are addressed and students are engaged in the process of learning Chinese. Every school has a different focus, every parent’s expectations vary, and every student’s learning progress is unique. We aim to achieve a balance among all three and a channel of open communication is encouraged throughout all classes and students.

Our Teachers

All our teachers graduated from universities in China or Hong Kong, with majority having earned Masters degree in Chinese or Chinese Education.  Our teachers have all passed the State Commission Putonghua Proficiency Test with at least Level 2A.  Our playgroup/kindergarten teachers have specialized degrees in early childhood teaching, while our Primary/Secondary teachers have extensive experience and have taught students from various local and international schools with top grades scored in GCSE, IGCSE and IB examinations.

Our Cultural (Art, Wushu, Dance) teachers are all specialized in their respective areas and have taught children for many years.

Our Students

Our students, also the stars of Southside Mandarin, are the driving force for our teachers. With students coming from so many different schools and nations, our teachers aim to put students’ needs as number one priority.  Every child is different and hence each child is taught differently.
